Services

Mountain Path

Our ultimate goal is to make you and/or your child feel comfortable to engage in therapy. As a team, we are committed to best practice standards for the psychological services we provide to children, adolescents, and adults. We believe strongly in client-centered, collaborative formulations and treatment plans that are founded on evidence-based practice.

We meet clients where they are and tailor therapy to fit your unique situation and needs. We teach clients strategies they can use outside of therapy to improve their mental health. We participate in ongoing continuing education to provide our clients with the most up-to-date evidence-based practice.

Therapy

Our primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT has repeatedly been shown to be effective in the treatment of various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and chronic pain. CBT is short-term with the goal of teaching skills that you or your child can implement in everyday life. The cognitive component is recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns and helping you or your child develop more helpful/realistic ways of thinking. The behavioural component involves developing coping strategies to manage mood or worries, such as relaxation strategies and gradually facing fears.

In addition to CBT, we integrate components of other interventions when appropriate, such as Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
